The first Ethio-Italian Business Forum, organized by the Italian Embassy in Addis Ababa and by the Italian Trade Office, took place in Addis Ababa on 19 and 20 June 2019. The mission was led by the Italian Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Emanuela Del Re. 200 Ethiopian companies and 50 Italian companies, involved in the main strategic sectors including agro-industry, infrastructure, leather and textiles, took part in the initiative.
The Italian Vice Minister Emanuela Del Re, accompanied by Ambassador Arturo Luzzi, also held bilateral meetings with various Ethiopian authorities, including Prime Minister, H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed, the Foreign and Deputy Foreign Ministers, respectively H.E. Dr. Gedu Andargachew and H.E. Dr. Aklilu Hailemichael, the Minister of Finance, H.E. Dr. Ahmed Shide, and the Minister of Tourism and Culture, H.E. Dr. Hirut Kassaw.
