Visa application center VFS Global in Addis Abeba is now open

Starting from Wednesday 19 June 2019 the company “VFS Global “ will cooperate in managing the Schengen Visa requests to travel to Italy (outsourcing). Such service will be available for residents in the three countries of accreditation of the Embassy of Italy: Ethiopia, Djibouti and South Sudan.

The Visa requests will have to be submitted, by prior appointment only, from Mondays to Fridays, from 08.00 a.m. to 03.00 p.m., at the dedicated “Visa Centre”, managed by the company VFS and placed in Bole, at the third floor of the “Morning Star” mall, beside “Edna Mall” (see map below).

To schedule an appointment we invite you to access the platform by clicking on and then inserting the required credentials. In case of first access to this service, it will be necessary to click on “New User” and complete the fields for registration to the portal. Once the appointment is scheduled, you will have to deliver directly to the Visa Centre, on the day and at the time designated, the complete documentation according to the type of Visa required. Within the Centre, desks 6 and 7 will be exclusively dedicated to the reception of requests and issuance of Visa to Italy. All Visa requests will have to be delivered by applicants in person. Applications presented by delegates or representatives will not be examined.

It is also reminded that the procedure for issuing a Schengen Visa requires at least 15 working days from the time when the application is submitted. Given that no entry Visa can be issued in a shorter period of time, it is highly recommended to submit your application well in advance, i.e. at least 30 days before departure to Italy.
