The President of the Italian Republic, H.E. Sergio Mattarella, has sent the following message to the President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, H.E. Sahle-Work Zewdu.
“In the name of the Italian People and on my behalf, I wish to express my most heartfelt congratulations on your election to the Presidency of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and to send you my best wishes for the course of your high mission.
I remember vividly my State visit to Ethiopia, Country to which Italy is linked by a firm friendship and by bonds of fruitful cooperation, which we will be able to further strengthen in the course of your mandate, also in the broader context of the increasing relations between Italy and the African continent and of the productive collaboration that links us to the African Union.
In this spirit, and looking forward to having soon the opportunity to meet you, I seize this opportunity to renew the warmest wishes of wellbeing for your person and for the entire Ethiopia”.
