Before heading to Ethiopia
Any foreigner wishing to visit Ethiopia needs a visa. Entrance to the country can be made by air and by land.

Processing times for visa applications are the sole responsibility of the Embassy of Ethiopia. The website of the Embassy of Ethiopia in Rome can be found at the following link: rome.mfa.gov.et.

Upon arrival in Ethiopia
Italian nationals temporarily travelling to Ethiopia are invited, in their own interest, to provide their contact details (e-mail, mobile phone number, address including area of residence) by sending by e-mail to consolato.addisabeba@esteri.it the form “Segnalazione presenza in Etiopia” duly filled in.
All Italian nationals (AIRE members and temporary visitors) are invited to promptly notify the Embassy of any changes in their contact details. Please note that all personal data provided to the Embassy are processed in compliance with the regulations in force.
In case of Emergency
In the event of an emergency, outside the working days and opening hours of the Embassy, it is possible to contact the duty officer by calling the Embassy’s emergency number. This number may only be used for emergency matters concerning Italian citizens.
