The Embassy, as an entity that retains and processes users’ personal data, is required to inform users in advance – in accordance with the principles of lawfulness, correctness and transparency – about the methods of such processing for each consular service carried out.
Users are therefore invited to carefully read the information provided pursuant to the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679, known as GDPR, in force since 25 May 2018:
- Information on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data for the purpose of providing consular services (excluding the issuance of visas and citizenship practices)
- Information on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data for the purpose of issuing a visa for entry into Italy and the Schengen area (available in English and Italian)
- Information on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data for the purposes of recognition of Italian citizenship iure sanguinis or its acquisition by naturalisation (Articles 5 and 7 and Article 9(1)(c) and (2) of Law No 91/1992)
