Premier, FM express deep sorrow after Italy earthquake

25.08.2016 – Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn has expressed his condolences to his Italian counterpart Matteo Renzi and the people of Italy over the loss of life and material caused by earthquake, according to Government Communication Affairs Office.

In his message to Italy’s Prime Minster, Hailemariam stated his deep sorrow over the death of Italians following the earthquake in central Italy.

The Premier also conveyed his condolences to families of the victims.

Similarly, Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Tedros Adhanom expressed his condolences to his Italian counterpart Paolo Gentiloni, families of the victims and people of Italy.

At least 247 people were killed after a 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck central Italy yesterday.
