The Ambassador of Italy, Arturo Luzzi, and the Deputy Minister of Finance of Ethiopia signed today in Addis Ababa five bilateral agreements worth 28.7 Million Euros, from the Country Framework. Technical and financial assistance in different sectors (such as education and sanitary) as well as job creation initiatives are at the core of the agreements which are aimed at promoting and strengthening a firm and mutually beneficial partnership between Italy and Ethiopia.
In the framework of such agreements, Italy and Ethiopia signed the Riverside Development Project agreement which is worth 5 Million Euros. The Riverside project is part of the broader Sheger Project. In this light, Italy intends to support Ethiopian efforts towards a fully sustainable development in a view to mitigate the risks of climate change as well as promote and enhance local communities.
The ceremony was also attended by the head of the italian Development Agency Office in Addis Ababa, Mr Tiberio Chiari, and TV and press Ethiopian journalists.
