The Italian Armed Forced and National Unity Day has been commemorated on 4 November 2017 at the Italian military cemetery of Gullele with a Holy Mass celebrated by the Archibishop of Harar, Angelo Pagano and ceremony of deposition of flowers for the fallen Italian soldiers. The Italian Ambassador, Arturo Luzzi, European and African military attaches, Italian community members and religious representatives attended the ceremony.
A reception, organized by the Italian Military attaché, led by Colonel Marco Àvaro, was held at the Sheraton hotel in Addis Ababa on the evening of 3 November. Around 300 guests from the Ethiopian, Italian and International community took part in the celebrations.
